BOOK CLUB AT NFSA IN COLLABORATION WITH ABC RADIO CANBERRA.
Explore how culturally significant books have been adapted and reimagined as films in a new series of Book Club at NFSA.

Inspired by Brontë’s classic, return to the passionate relationship between Heathcliff (Jacob Elordi) and Catherine (Margot Robbie). Their love curdles into obsession amid the harsh Yorkshire moors.

Director Emerald Fennell brings a contemporary sensibility to a story of class, desire and emotional ruin, emphasising its raw psychological intensity and dark undertones. Fennell’s Wuthering Heights explores cinema’s fascination with love as a destructive force and reinterprets a literary landmark for a new generation.

Composer Anthony Willis’ film score features original songs by Charli XCX including ‘House’ with John Cale.

This screening will be followed by a discussion about the film as an adaptation of Emily Brontë’s novel Wuthering Heights with 666AM ABC Radio Canberra presenter Alice Matthews and author Rhiân Williams, co-host of ABC Afternoons Book Corner Book Club.
