Our people

The NFSA is a statutory authority governed by a Board and managed by an Executive Team. We operate within the Australian Government’s Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts.

The NFSA Board is responsible for ensuring the proper and efficient performance of the organisation’s functions under the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia Act 2008.

The Executive team manages day‑to‑day operations and implements the strategic direction set by the Board.

The First Nations Engagement Committee is an advisory committee to the NFSA Board. It provides guidance on First Nations policy, collection management and cultural initiatives.
