This 1999 poster of pop duo sister2sister (Christine and Sharon Muscat) was released around the time of their hit debut single, 'Sister’.

Released on the eve of the new millennium, the poster reflects a late-1990s futurist design trend of minimalism, sterile lighting, muted colours and prominent sans serif font. While the Muscat sisters are styled to reference the urban club culture of the era, positioning them as part of the dance scene, they stood out from the bubblegum pop landscape due to their hands-on songwriting.

Discovered by Tina Arena’s manager, the pair co-wrote all tracks on their debut album One (2000). 'Sister' featured catchy, relatable lyrics about sibling dynamics and topped the charts in Australia. sister2sister's profile expanded through extensive international touring in 2000, which included opening for Britney Spears on her US tour. However, this also led to a rushed album rollout.

After their second album didn’t materialise, the duo focused on other projects, including the sister2sister School of Singing and performing backing vocals for artists like Delta Goodrem. They returned to music in 2022 with two new singles, 'Nothing’s Gonna Bring Us Down Now' and 'Love You'.
