In this Brisbane-made web series, devotion to your run club always takes precedence – even over your own life.

This clip offers a satirical look at the rise of run clubs as a communal fitness trend, diving into a hotbed of wellness-speak, hidden commercial incentives, toxic masculinity and cliquey behaviour. Despite the murder of one of their own members, the titular run club decides it won't let one friend's death kill their stride. Through arch dialogue, the creators take aim at the callousness of modern social dynamics, where tragedy can be spun into inspiration and buzzwords, and a casual fitness group can quickly become high-pressure, cult-like and uncomfortable for women members.

Run Club leans on the contemporary obsession with wellness and true crime to shape its tone, using dark humour and insight into current social behaviours to build a portrait of the social media generation.
