This sign is a relic saved from the old Starlight Twin Drive-in movie theatre in Canberra, and would have been helpful for patrons looking for a sweet fix while enjoying the latest film from the comfort of their cars. The Starlight Drive-in opened on 2 January 1957 with a capacity for 48 cars. It later became the Starlight Twin in 1982 when a second screen was installed, providing space for nearly 1,000 cars. The venue closed in 1993 but the original neon entrance sign was added to the ACT Heritage Register in 2016 and can still be seen from the Federal Highway today.
