  • WARNING: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander viewers are advised that the following program may contain images and/or audio of deceased persons

Dancers Stephen Page (formerly of the Aboriginal Islander Dance Theatre) and Victoria Taylor (Sydney Dance Company) embody seven distinct colours through movement. In this close-up footage of their visually arresting performance, choreography and cinematography coalesce to evoke the emotional and symbolic resonance of each hue. Abstract concepts are transformed into pure visceral experience.

The fluid and varied camera angles, from wide shots to close-ups of Page and Taylor's faces, allow audiences to observe the intricacy of their movements and the pair's total synchronicity. A seamless integration of visual and kinetic language, the striking stage design and Page’s choreography draw from Indigenous traditions while engaging with contemporary forms. Each colour sequence feels like a meditation, not just on visual tone, but on cultural and emotional states.

Page went on to be the artistic director of Bangarra Dance Theatre from 1991–2022.
