The year is 2047 and a rescue crew is dispatched to investigate the sudden reappearance of the Event Horizon, an experimental spacecraft designed by Dr. William Weir (Sam Neil) which vanished years earlier. Led by Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne), the crew boards what appears to be a lifeless vessel, only to discover that the ship may have returned carrying something profoundly hostile.
Event Horizon reframes deep space as a site of metaphysical dread rather than discovery. Drawing as much from Gothic and religious imagery as from space opera, the film explores guilt, obsession and the terror of the unknown.
