In the 1960s, the Commonwealth Film Unit expanded beyond pure documentary to drama and docudrama. The series Three to Go explores the problems of Australian youth. In the episode titled Judy, the audience meets a young woman living in Tamworth, NSW. She wants to go to the big city to work, to lose herself in the crowd and find herself as an individual. The film traces the last few weeks before she leaves home. We meet her parents, workmates and boyfriend, and in their comments discover some of the problems a teenage girl like Judy has to face.
