Based on Colin Thiele's beloved novel, Storm Boy tells the story of 10-year-old Mike 'Storm Boy' King (Greg Rowe), who lives with his reclusive father Hide-Away Tom (Peter Cummins) in the remote Coorong wetlands. Lonely and curious, Mike soon forms a bond with Aboriginal man Fingerbone Bill (David Gulpilil). Together, they care for an orphaned pelican named Mr Percival.

Shot on location in South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula and Coorong, the film was made on a budget of $260,000 and became a box-office success, reaching audiences in over 100 countries.
