Buzz buzz! Although lacking in words, Mr Do-Bee, the oversized bumblebee, was the star attraction of the children's television series Romper Room, as seen from this promotional plate from 1986 featuring the character. The merchandising also confirms the popularity of the series; it allowed young fans to continue living in the show's world after the TV had been switched off. With teacher Miss Helena, Mr Do-Bee taught children ’proper’ manners, discipline and etiquette that all seem a little rigid in hindsight!
