This Eyewitness News segment from 3 August 1984 offers a rare glimpse inside the Melbourne Arts Ball at the World Trade Centre (now WTC Wharf). Once a highlight of Australia’s cultural calendar, the annual Arts Ball was famed for its flamboyant costumes and free-spirited celebration. By the mid-1980s, the tradition was fading – making this one of the last Balls ever held. With TV cameras usually banned, surviving footage like this is exceptionally scarce.
