John Farnham's music video for 'Pressure Down' combined guest interludes from Australian character actor Frank Thring and some very 1980s graphics to make for one truly surreal video clip.

This excerpt includes a canny visual reference to The Horse in Motion, often cited as the first motion picture in history. The jittery movement of a horse in motion flows into the iconic Australian singer's energetic embrace of visual tricks: from wipes to impositions to wacky animations. The assortment of images can seem hilariously random (they include board games, speedometers, and two men wrestling), but they reflect delight for the wide world of VFX.

Farnham not only belts out his classic hit song, but showcases his whimsical sense of humour. Watching it today, it is almost hard to believe that the superimposed head of a strangled Thring, which floats across the screen at the end of the clip, is not a contemporary meme.
