Emerging after the Second World War, the Pathescope GEM was a sleek and stylish die-cast projector built for 8mm, 9.5mm and 16mm gauges and featuring atomic-age design.

British-designed and manufactured, the machine’s performance was somewhat lo-fi and limited by its 12-volt 100-watt lamp and basic lens. The image quality could be improved by upgrading these two important parts of the projector.
