This Gaumont Graphic newsreel contains two segments. ‘Fashions for Ladies’ potentially showing footage of famous ballroom dancer and flapper Irene Castle with her pet monkey Rastus on the boardwalk in Long Beach New York. ‘Food of the Gods’ follows the process of cocoa production in Trinidad. This newsreel is uniquely coloured by combining two silent era colourising methods a tint with a stencil colouring process. To have both processes on the one scene is very rare and unusual.
