The vinyl soundtrack to the highest-grossing Australian film of all time. Composer Peter Best wrote the original motion picture score for Crocodile Dundee (Peter Faiman, 1986), including its expansive opening titles featuring guitar and orchestra, blended with didgeridoo, claves and possibly even a wobble board. His music highlights the film’s nostalgic qualities and the romantic version of Australia it sold to mainstream audiences locally and overseas. The soundtrack, which was nominated for an ARIA Award, memorably incorporated a hit song by Mental as Anything ('Live It Up') and INXS's 'Different World'. Best has been a prolific composer of film and TV music for decades, including for We of the Never Never (1982) and Muriel's Wedding (1994). He also created earworm jingles for era-defining ad campaigns like 'Life. Be in it' (c. 1976), 'Care for Kids' (1979) and 'Slip! Slop! Slap!' (1981).
