That's what fans got with this Kylie Mole talking doll from 1988, a toy version of the scowling, freckled schoolgirl portrayed by Mary-Anne Fahey, who popularised one of Australia's most loved and hated slang terms for a suburban Aussie: ‘bogan’.

Kylie Mole was a recurring character on Network Ten's sketch comedy series The Comedy Company and Fahey’s delicious rendition of the adolescent speech and slang of the 1980s made her character a breakout star, planting phrases like ‘She goes, she goes ... she just goes’ and ‘So excellent’ in the vernacular of the time. The character not only spawned this talking doll, but also the bestselling novel My Diary by Kylie Mole, and the double A-side single ‘So Excellent’ / ‘I Go I Go’ which peaked at No. 8 on the Australian ARIA chart in November 1988.
