Classic TV: Homicide

Homicide, Australia’s first police drama series, premiered in Melbourne on HSV7 on 20 October 1964.

The landmark Crawford Productions' series profiled murder cases handled by the fictional detectives of Victoria Police Headquarters’ homicide squad.

Homicide ran for 12 years and over 500 episodes. It enjoyed consistently high ratings across the Seven Network, turned many of its regular cast members into household names, and won a multitude of awards including the Logie for Best Drama Series a record seven times.

This collection includes clips from three episodes (from 1965, 1970 and 1973); interviews with Hector Crawford, actor Leonard Teale and writer-director Ian Jones; behind-the-scenes production materials; and photos of some of the famous faces to have appeared on Homicide over the years.

WARNING: this collection may contain names, images or voices of deceased Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
