Canberra time capsule

A rare 100-year record of the birth and development of the national capital of Australia from its foundation in 1913 to its centenary celebrations.

Canberra is the capital city of Australia located in the Australian Capital territory (ACT). It is Australia’s largest inland city with a population under 400,000 people.

There are many film and sound titles relating to Canberra in the NFSA collection. This sample of items, dating from the 1910s to 2010s, highlights the people of Canberra and some of the major events in the history of the city.
